A Girl Looking at a Pendulum Model

Series 6th-12th

Science Lab Workshop

We are very excited to introduce our NEW science lab workshops for middle school and high school students. Each series consists of monthly workshops chock full of interesting, hands-on, science labs that can complete your at-home, or co-op, science curriculum. These workshops are perfect for busy homeschool families who enjoy participating in engaging labs with other homeschooled students, all while avoiding the planning, prep-time, and mess. Each completed series meets the requirements for one credit of lab science.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE SERIES

This lab series is designed to go with any basic high school physical science curriculum. All materials will be handed out during each workshop. When a particular skill is needed, parents will be given ample time to ensure the student knows that skill (e.g., how to use a protractor and compass.) We expect that students will complete their Physical Science coursework at home. This will ensure labs will be more meaningful. This workshop series is equivalent to one high school physical science lab credit. Each workshop is three hours.

No homework, no tests, no additional registration/lab fees.

Topics include: measurements, sound, light/color, reflection/refraction, magnetism, forms of energy, laws of motion, simple machines, electricity, and matter.
