Information on showing your interest in teaching or taking classes with CHSRC
Covenant Home School Resource Center began with a curriculum rental library and a few classes in 2001. (See About Us-History for more details.) With growth and added functions, in 2005 we divided the components into two departments, both operating under the same roof.
We now have Covenant Classes, which focuses on the coursework that we offer, and H.O.M.E. School Books and Resources which is comprised of the curriculum and the services that we offer. Both sections are 501 (c) 3 tax deductible organizations. The name of Covenant Home School Resource Center is the physical location as well as the general name for the
classes division.
Classes run from September to May for a full year credit. Maximum size is 12 students, with the typical enrollment about 8-10. Report cards are provided for fifth grade and up. Many classes allow enrollment at various points in the year, but families are encouraged to enroll prior to August 15th. If there are too few enrollees, the class may be cancelled.
A family must be a member of the resource center in order to take classes.
Most courses will be held at the resource center, which is near 12th Street and Indian School Road in Central Phoenix. We are easy to access from all parts of the valley--just north of the 202 two miles, and west of State route 51 one mile. In non-rush hour, drive time from most of the valley is about 30 minutes or less.
BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER, 2007, we will have a full line of classes in the Northwest Valley, hosted by Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sun City West. Registration has begun and some classes are filling quickly.
We also offer some classes at off-site locations in various parts of the valley. Please contact us if you are interested in teaching such a course, or in gathering a group and finding a location to hold classes.
