Dear New and Continuing Home
Educators,
You have
entered into an exciting adventure through which you
will reap many rewards and benefits. True, home
schooling takes time, commitment, money, and everything you
have to give, but it is an opportunity to be involved with
your children in a way of which many only dream.
Home education has been around
since the creation of mankind, whereas public school as we see
it today is a relatively young social phenomenon. You
are joining the ranks of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson,
Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Teddy Roosevelt, Sandra Day
O’Connor, and numerous others of renown and great
achievement. You will have the opportunity to teach your
children to think outside the box, to imagine and create new
things, to fully discover who they are and what is their
unique purpose in God’s creation. You will learn right
along with them and expand your own knowledge base and
understanding. Your children will discover that learning
is a delightful process that never needs to end as they watch
you taking on the challenges of enriching your own mind and
experience.
Above
and beyond all of this will be the supreme gift of
knowing your children and being known by them in a depth that
can happen best with lots of shared time and energy in the day
to day living and learning.
This website is designed to answer many of your questions, whether
as a newbie or a veteran, provide resources* and
encouragement, and give you the courage and tools to
successfully complete your homeschooling journey. Many
of us have walked the path ahead of you, and can give insights
form our experience. In addition, through our Home
School Resource Center in Phoenix, Arizona, we can offer many
forms of live support which will be discussed in the following pages.
